Julia Dorothee Brunsch Attore
Julia Dorothee Brunsch is an artist and studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. During her academic training, she appeared in several productions at the Munich Kammerspiele (including ‘Der Sturm’, directed by Stefan Pucher, Berlin Theatertreffen 2009) and at the Residenztheater. She then performed at the Theater Lübeck and the Theater Kontraste, Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg. She is part of the artist collective ‘New Ground Performance’ (sound, text and image performance). They celebrated their premiere in Berlin in 2022 at the Delphi Theater. Since then, they have performed at venues including the Villa Stuck in Munich.
‘Land’ by Julia Dorothee Brunsch, Lukas Rehm and Frank Campoi will be on display as a permanent exhibition at the Stadtmuseum Memmingen from autumn 2025.
She has appeared in several short films, including the lead role in ‘Süßer Sommer’ (Sweet Summer), directed by Sabrina Mertens. This film was nominated for the Max Ophüls Prize at the 2021 film festival, and she also appeared in ‘Freischwimmer’ (Free Swimmer), directed by Gaya von Schwarze, which was nominated at the 2020 Achtung Berlin Film Festival and the 53rd International Hof Film Festival. In 2021, she will appear in the Tatort episode ‘Der Mörder in mir’ (The Killer Inside Me), directed by Niki Stein, and in 2023 she will play the lead role in the feature film ‘Bernadette will töten’ (Bernadette Wants to Kill), directed by Oliver Paulus and Robert Herzl, which premiered at the Solothurn Film Festival in January 2025.
She recently opened an art gallery in an old castle near Hamburg. There, her vision is to be a space provider for the liberal arts.
